Our foundress, Jean E. Farley was a member of a highly regarded family with deep roots in Atlantic City. Her brother was the late Senator Frank S. “Hap” Farley, and was the most effective legislator in the history of New Jersey! He sponsored legislation creating Stockton University, Atlantic Cape Community College, Atlantic City Expressway and Garden State Parkway! Jean E. Farley was an entrepreneurial realtor, and first woman president of the Board of Realtors in Atlantic County.
The late Jean E. Farley, in the heart of Ventnor City, founded the prominent firm, where it is still thrives today since 1916! In addition to real estate, Jean was a licensed insurance broker and offered mortgage services. Aspiring to follow in Jean’s footsteps, Mary Lou Ferry Wimmer spent a lot of her childhood in the real estate office due to prior work relations established between Jean and her father, Frank J. Ferry, esq.
In 1990, Jean E. Farley Realtors became what is now known as Farley & Ferry Realty when Mary Lou Ferry Wimmer obtained sole ownership of the company after the death of the late Jean E. Farley with the permission of the Farley family. Remaining true to her grandparents & father’s relationship with the Farley’s, Mary Lou decided to carry on the Farley family real estate tradition while incorporating her own family name. Since this time Mary Lou, has continued the legacy as the owner, broker, and president of Farley & Ferry Realty Incorporated.
